What You'll See With Our Reviews
When our gear review section launches later this year, it will be different from typical outdoor gear sites. We don't accept payment for reviews, and when manufacturers do send us products to test, we'll clearly disclose that at the beginning of each review.
Here's our approach:
Michigan-Tested: Every piece of gear will be tested in actual Michigan hunting, fishing, and trapping conditions. We'll tell you how it performs in a November deer blind, on a frozen lake in January, or during a late spring turkey hunt.
Budget-Conscious: Not everyone can afford the most expensive gear. We'll review budget options alongside premium equipment, helping you make informed decisions regardless of your budget.
Honest Opinions: If something breaks, performs poorly, or isn't worth the money, we'll tell you. Our recommendations come from real field experience, not manufacturer specifications.
Local Expertise: Reviews will be written by Jack Ammerman and Eddie Bosas Jr., both lifelong Michigan outdoorsmen who understand what gear actually works in our unique conditions.
